Consultations with the doctors and nursing staff are by appointment only.
Urgent appointments
To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday) during opening times:
- phone us on 01873 810255
Please phone to arrange a total triage consultation. A member of the clinical team will phone you back that day. A member of the clinical team will assess your symptoms/concerns and offer an appointment with a GP, or other healthcare professional, that most suits your needs.
Routine appointments
Routine appointments are usually booked or arranged in advance and you will be seen by a clinician such as a nurse or healthcare assistant. To request a routine appointment in advance during opening times:
- phone us on 01873 810255
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Checking in
As appointments are held on our computer system, it is important to check in on arrival so that the GP or nurse knows that you have arrived. You can do this by either using the touch screen automated arrivals system or, if you prefer, by going to reception.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible as appointments are in great demand and another patient could be seen in your place.
To cancel your appointment:
- phone us on 01873 810255
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 Wales or call 111.
The NHS 111 Wales symptom checker is for people aged 12 and over. Call 111 if you need help for anyone under 12.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
- if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs
Home visits
Patients requiring to see the doctor urgently, who are too ill or frail to visit the surgery, should phone our main practice number on 01873 810255 to request a home visit. We ask that you call as soon as possible after 9am and give the receptionist a brief idea of the problem so that we can prioritise the visits.
Please note that this service is not intended for patients who are well enough to attend the surgery, but simply have transport difficulties.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
