Crickhowell Group Practice is piloting a GP and Nurse Triage system
Our aim is to
- Exercise prudent Health care by directing the patient to the most appropriate health care provider.
- Provide better access to patients
- Better use of time for our clinicians
- Ensure that there are adequate appointments for patients with chronic complex illnesses.
Patients calling in the morning who wish to see a clinician on the same day will be triaged through the new system. Our trained receptionists will ask you questions concerning your health before placing your name on the triage list. When a clinician becomes available he or she will return your call to arrange the most appropriate care plan. This maybe a telephone consult or to arrange an appointment with a clinician. It is important for patients to understand that our GP and nurse will be working together to ensure you are provided with the most urgent and appropriate care.
We will still be operating the same system for pre-bookable appointments and these can be available up to 3 weeks in advance, however they are limited.

We are conducting a Patient Satisfaction Survey relating to the new Triage System to encourage feedback to help us improve services to our patients. Participation is voluntary and can be completed anonymously. A copy of the survey will be offered to you by the Clinician at the end of your appointment. Simply complete and return to the Reception desk for your views to be heard.
